ICNZ 14 Press Release

This Saturday night, June 25th, brings the Industry of Combat’s 14th installment of Mixed Martial Arts fighting to the North Shore Events Centre.

A twelve fight card, encompassing two International Superfights, taking place within the cage should be enough to bring in the crowds and has potential to make ICNZ 14 the biggest gate ever for a New Zealand MMA show.

The card is headlined by KO artist Doug ‘Dynamite’ Higgins from South Auckland’s SMAC gym taking on Australian Luke ‘HellBoy’ Hume in a featherweight bout that is bound to get the crowd to their feet.

The co-main event is an all female affair, as NZ number 2 Deney Hayward form Shuriken MMA goes head to head with arguably Australia’s best in Fiona Muxlow. Deney is coming off a very hard fought and close decision loss to Kate Aroa and will be looking to take the fight to the visiting Muxlow. The winner to face current ICNZ woman’s champ Kate Aroa on ICNZ 15 in September.

Other exciting pro fights featuring on the main card are Heavyweight knockout hunters Steven ‘warzone’ Warby taking on Marc ‘Tank’ Creedy. These two big boys may be reducing the cage to a telephone box as they slug it out toe to toe. Let’s see who’s still standing at the end.

In a classic Striker vs Grappler matchup, Andrew Craven has dropped to Lightweight to take on Adam ‘Soldier’ Calver. Adam looks to extend his win streak after demolishing his opponent in his last fight and Craven is desperate to come out the victor in his pro-debut.

Also on the main card, the North shore’s ‘Slammin’ Simo Postings battles it out against Palmerston North’s Corey Governor for bragging rights, both boys looking to cement their places in the Welterweight division.

The Pro card is supported by a fixture of well contested A-Class bouts including wrestling sensation Toby Fitzpatrick taking on Selby Devereux. Selby was a top performer in his last outing and is looking to make a name on the NZ MMA scene. Matt Hazleman takes on Adam Wellington. Paora ‘the Cobra’ Smith looks to score another win over Joe Barker, who’s last win was over the now South Pacific Champion Ben Kelleher, and Justin Remihana enters the cage against the slick Robbie Farquhar. Also on the card is hard hitting veteran of ICNZ James Spraggs taking on Lance Vale.

Supporting bouts include Phillip Brown looking to score a win on debut over Daniel Pritchard, and Nick Allan and Charles Wardle both looking to end the others winning run.

The show starts at 6pm and tickets are still available. Every pre-purchase ticket goes into win prizes including a domestic return trip for two courtesy of www.grabaseat.co.nz or a X-Box, Kinect and UFC Personnel trainer Game. Check out www.icnzmma.co.nz for details
